London-based label CMMN SWDN has linked up once again with Amsterdam eyewear brand Ace & Tate for a Spring/Summer 2019 capsule collection, following a successful debut capsule release in Spring of 2018.
The pair opted to build on themes from previous CMMN SWDN collections, which intertwine vibrant youth sub-cultures with understated yet, classic industrial garments.
Road-Wear to Street-Wear
Drawing inspiration from road cycling, the collection reflects the pair’s refined approach to repurposing technical outdoor gear. The collection features two iterations of cycling-influenced frames, name the “LeMond” and the “LeBoss”, in reference to two legendary Tour de France champions Greg LeMond and Lance Armstrong.
Each iteration is equipped with shield-like photochromic lens, a sturdy head strap, and a separate nylon nose piece. The “LeMond”, the smaller of the frames, consist of four tinted color variations, including a red-to-yellow gradient, electric yellow, grey-to-clear fade, and full grey colorway with red detailing highlighting its futuristic design. The “LeBoss” fames take on just two gradient color – of red and neutral hues, and feature large CMMN SWDN branding across its bridge and adopt a larger structure.
Priced at £148 GBP (approx. $193 USD) each, the frames will be available at Ace & Tate’s website, selected stores and distribution partners from April 11.
